Garry Jacobson heads to Perth for the fourth round of the Supercars Championship with a truckload of confidence.
The Shepparton driver will be hoping he can repeat his heroics at Melbourne’s Albert Park in round three, where he enjoyed one of his most memorable weekends behind the wheel in the nation’s premier motorsport competition.
Jacobson, who claimed the Super2 title in 2016, walked away with three top-10 race finishes from four races and a career-high sixth finish.
The 30-year-old sits 22nd in the championship ahead of Saturday’s first race.
Speaking ahead of the Perth SuperNight round at Wanneroo Raceway, the PremiAir Subway Racing driver said he was hopeful to keep up the sublime performances on the track.
Jacobson, who has only raced at the Western Australia-based track once in his career, is optimistic of putting in a big showing.
“We head to Perth full of confidence from the Melbourne 400 where we were able to consistently move forward across the weekend, locking down a number of top 10 results and personal bests,” Jacobson said.
“I have only been to Perth once before (2019) and it has been quite a while since anyone turned a wheel at Wanneroo, but we head to WA full of vigour and enthusiasm, keen to put into practice the lessons learned in Melbourne and to keep making strong steps forward.
“Our expectations are definitely elevated following the last round.”
Practice kicks off on Saturday morning.
