What a difference a weekend makes.

The Goulburn Murray Lawn Tennis Association’s top division looks wide open compared to a week previous.

No unbeaten teams remain after Shepparton Lawn Average Joes fell to Shepparton Lawn The Valley in a local clash.

The contest was extremely close on games as the result of a late rally by the already-beaten Average Joes in the two mixed doubles rubbers.

The tie was already put to bed, though, with The Valley nabbing four of the six singles contests and holding on from there to notch its maiden victory, 7-69 to 5-68.

There was no upset to be found in the other contest, with Velvet Tigers becoming the first side to three wins by dispatching Numurkah 7-81 to 5-59.

Though full lower grade scores were unavailable at print time, GM2’s Cobram Crocs, GM3’s Kyabram Redbacks and GM4 Open’s Tatura Monsoons shape up as the last sides without defeat on their records.
