Wolverines, Bandits, Pirates — going off names alone, Mooroopna was a dangerous place to be across the King's Birthday long weekend.

Sweetly struck home runs — and occasional drizzle — rained down on Mooroopna Recreation Reserve during the Softball Victoria Masters Championship from June 7-9.
Hundreds of evergreen softball stars in gaudy garb, representing their humorously dubbed teams, took to the diamond throughout three days of sensational softball.
From Western Wolverines, Casey 2 Cans and even the United Masters of the Universe, the skills matched the flamboyance put out by the state’s best male and female players over 35.
In the men’s A-grade division, Springvale Whitesox took out the top prize with a 4-3 win over Western Wolverines in the major final.
The women’s equivalent pitted Monash United against Northwood Falcons in the decider, with United loading the bases to claim a 5-0 clean sweep.
