Drovers must bounce back

Deniliquin Drovers join with visiting team to sing after the game.

Deniliquin Drovers play at home this weekend, keen to bounce back from a thrashing at the hands of Wagga Ag College last week.

Third-placed Aggies were too good for the Drovers, defeating the young side 109 - 5.

The Drovers team is made up of many international players who work in Victoria and often cannot get to Deniliquin for training.

Thanks to the dedication of the Drovers committee and volunteers, led by club president Paul Marshall and coach Joe Gogarty, Deni-based players and club members often drive to Tongala and Shepparton to pick up the players on match day.

This Saturday, the Drovers host eighth placed CSU Reddies at home at Rotary Park.

The Drovers should win, but they will need the support of a good home crowd to help recover from last week’s tough loss.

The international players have entertained the Deniliquin home crowd with after match song and celebration. It is a fantastic display of true sportsmanship and is enjoyed by the crowd.

Drovers take on Reddies this Saturday at 2:30pm at Rotary Park.
