Rochester Golf Club was the place to be on the AFL grand final public holiday, with its annual charity day raising funds and spirits.
More than 90 players flocked to the course for the four-person Ambrose, raising $3200 in the process.
The funds will be split across Fight MND and Rochester Men’s Shed.
Rochester Golf Club’s Louise Williams said the event was an enjoyable one.
“The highlight is seeing lots of people having lots of fun,” she said.
“It’s a good game for beginners, it’s a fun game the four-person Ambrose.
“It’s good to see different faces come out and have a play.”
Attendees not only had a hit, but they had a bid, with an auction run by Rochester real estate agent Luke Ryan.
Among the items that were snapped up were a cricket bat signed by Australian cricketer Will Sutherland, Yeti Eskis, jackets, a football and golfing gear.
Williams thanked the major event sponsors SportsPower Rochester and Nurien Ag Solutions for their donations to the fundraiser.
She also credited the work of the club’s volunteers in running the event and maintaining the green.
“Our course is looking amazing at the moment because there’s been lots of work going into it,” Williams said.
“We have lots of volunteers, which is amazing.
“It’s the best it’s ever been.”
