The AusCycling BMX National Championships came to Shepparton this week amidst much fanfare and the action on the track lived up to it.

Riders have flocked to the Goulburn Valley from every state and territory in Australia, with Australian BMX Olympian Bodi Turner seeking to defend his 2022 Men’s Elite victory.

The Shepparton BMX track is hosting the national titles for the fourth time after previously operating the 2010, 2014 and 2019 editions.

Practice rounds started on Monday, October 30 and the competitive events are now in full swing, set to run until Saturday, November 4.

You may be surprised to learn the field for the 2023 nationals ranges in age from three years old ― you read that correctly ― to 67 years.

Megan Fisher was on hand to capture the day’s events for The News.
