Two men have been charged following an alleged aggravated burglary on a Mooroopna pub in the early hours of Friday, June 6.

Police allege the pair forced entry to the Royal Mail Hotel on McLennan St about 1.50am.

The men fled before police attended, but were arrested nearby a short time later.

A 20-year-old Shepparton man and a 20-year-old Strathmerton man have been charged with aggravated burglary, theft and possessing controlled weapons.

They were both bailed to appear before the Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on September 19.

Police said investigators were working to establish whether this incident was related to a similar incident at the same location on May 31.
