West Vic young farmers traded their gumboots for dancing shoes for the third annual dairy farmers ball.
The event was held in February and was organised by the Young Dairy Network leadership team.
Organiser Chloe Brown said it was a great night and a wonderful opportunity for people to get together and celebrate the dairy industry and have a bit of fun.
She said around 130 people attended.
“This year we had a sit down dinner which added a bit of formality rather than the stand-up cocktail and nibbles set up,” Chloe said.
“The band played and we danced the night away.”
A highlight of the night was the announcement of the winner of an all expenses paid trip to the Netherlands sponsored by Lely.
This was awarded to Breanna Stewart.
Last year's winner Renee Mugavin gave a PowerPoint presentation of her trip.
Chloe said due to the difficult season that had passed, organisers decided to forgo the charity auction enabling participants to just come along and have some fun, without having to put their hand in their pocket.
Chole said YDN is very active within the region.
“We have around 12 people in the team now, we just bought in a few more people to build capacity and foster leadership development.
“We try and host an event each month, alternating between a happy hour-type event and a field day.
“Our focus is to keep things interesting and host events that young people want to keep coming back to,” Chloe said.
