Coliban Water has provided an update on works to the Echuca water tower, which have been under way over the past seven or so months.
A spokesperson said loose material and render was found on the tower’s exterior during assessments late last year, which needed removal and repair.
Scaffolding has been installed around the tower as a result, allowing crews to reach the parts of the tower in need of work.
“These current repairs will take up to five weeks to complete. Once done, a further assessment will be made on the tower’s exterior,” the spokesperson said.
“If there are no further repairs needed, the scaffolding will be removed.”
Temporary fencing has been installed for public safety, and there is no impact to Echuca’s drinking water supply.
