This year’s Converge on the Goulburn cultural festival is expanding to take over Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake across two days.
With food, music and performances from Greater Shepparton’s First Nations’ and multicultural communities, the festival aims to bring together the community and celebrate its diversity.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said Converge was one of the most popular cultural events on the calendar.
“After almost a decade of successful events, Converge has grown beyond what we can fit into one day,” Cr Sali said.
“Spreading the event over two days provides more options to broaden the creative programming for residents and visitors to come along, which will assist in boosting Greater Shepparton’s economic recovery after the floods.
“Converge is a truly unique festival for the region and the state, focusing on our people, culture and way of life.”
Converge is a free event and part of the Shepparton Festival program and features cultural art displays, opportunities to engage with artists, and an array of cuisines prepared by community members, food trucks and businesses.
Cr Sali encouraged the community to bring along friends and family, particularly those from outside Greater Shepparton.
“I highly encourage anyone who loves connecting with community, eating great food and having a fun time to attend Converge on the Goulburn and seek out more amazing things to do in our region through the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley platform.”
The event will run from 6pm to 9pm on Friday, March 17 and from 4pm to 10pm on Saturday, March 18.
