Tuesday bulletin: Anthrax in Shepparton contained.

Good morning Shepparton.

It’s Tuesday, April 23 and there’s plenty of hard news to kick off your morning.

Let’s just get into it.

Major restoration works have been completed at Aspen Lodge Caravan Park in Mooroopna.

Most of the on-site cabins at the park were destroyed during the 2022 Victorian floods, while caravan sites and communal spaces also suffered damage.

Goulburn Valley Suns are well past the line in the sand territory — it’s emergency button time.

On Saturday, the Suns suffered their fifth loss on the bounce as a pair of penalties proved the difference between one point and none against Nunawading City in the Victorian Premier League Two.

Early reporting by farmers and fast action by Agriculture Victoria animal health staff and local veterinarians saw the effective containment of a small outbreak of anthrax in the Shepparton region in February.

Don’t go just yet, it’s time to look at the forecast.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a mostly sunny day with a five per cent chance of rain.

Temperature-wise, it is expected to reach 27℃ during the afternoon before cooling off slightly, being 16℃ at 10pm tonight.

The UV Index will reach a high 4 in the early afternoon.
