Spooky fun unites Deniliquin

Deniliquin’s main street was transformed into a festive wonderland on Friday, for the annual Mental Health Awareness Group Halloween street party.

Concentrated on Cressy St but spanning throughout the CBD, it brought together families, businesses, and volunteers for an evening of spooky fun and community connection.

Participating businesses and services decorated their shopfronts, handed out treats, and offered creative activities that added to the magic of the night.

From interactive displays to themed activities, the street was buzzing with energy and excitement.

There was no shortage of impressive costumes, with witches, superheroes, skeletons, and more parading through the town.

Smiles were everywhere as children and adults alike embraced the festive spirit.

MHAG thanked the community for “showing up in force” and making the event a success.

Special appreciation was extended to the Rotary Club of Deniliquin for their crowd-pleasing barbecue, and to the Deniliquin High School students who volunteered their time for face painting and crossing patrols.

More than 20 volunteers helped bring the event to life.

Congratulations to Deniliquin Jewellers, voted this year’s favourite shop for Halloween decorations and activities, with Wellways Murrumbidgee Deniliquin as runner-up.

MHAG reminded everyone that while Halloween might be full of frights, mental health isn’t as scary as you think.

The group encouraged locals to visit their website for resources and support, reinforcing the message that together, the community is making a difference.
