Hundreds gathered at the Lockington Park for the Annual Lockington Swap Meet and Show ‘n’ Shine on Sunday, May 18.
It was an early start for exhibitors, with the show kicking off from 7am and running until 1pm.
Despite winds of up to 28km/h, visitors and exhibitors alike still attended the event to admire the range of vehicles and to wander among the rows of bits and bobs on sale.
Guests travelled from around the region, including Echuca, Shepparton, Elmore and Geelong, to enter their vehicles in the running for prizes.
There were eight major prizes on the day, including People’s Choice, Shannon’s Choice, Best Motorcycle, Best Original Motorcycle, Best Paintwork, Best Original, Best Engine Bay and a special Autobarn prize.
The People’s Choice award went to Garry Dempsey for his blue 1970 Rambler Rebel, while Echuca local Jordan Florance took home the Shannon’s Choice award for his 1987 Toyota LandCruiser.
Another Echuca local, Zeb Lockyer, claimed the award for Best Original Motorcycle with his Ducatti 900 Super Sport.
For Best Motorcycle, Alan Heywood from Elmore took out the competition with his 1973 MV Agusta.
It was a good day for Ford Falcon owners with Robin Elliot’s XB GT Falcon winning Best Paintwork and Paul Dullard’s XR Falcon 500 claiming Best Original.
The Best Engine Bay was awarded to Darcy Arnel for the 1969 Holden Kingswood and Locky local John Rasmussen won the special Autobarn prize for his HRD Vincent.
