There was no mistaking, last weekend’s GT Nationals in Shepparton was a huge deal, with immaculate, shining motoring masterpieces filtering through the city’s streets over the five-day event.
Held once every two years in various locations across Australia, the Goulburn Valley was chosen for the event’s 20th milestone.
During the concours at MOVE on March 15, there were almost 500 cars on display, including the GTs inside and the Southern Rod and Custom car show out the front.
MOVE’s Marcus Cook said there were more than 4000 visitors to the museum on the Saturday.
“(It was) just a magnificent day for all involved, much gratitude to the wonderful MOVE team and volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure the event was a success,“ executive officer Jim Andreadis said.
“(It was) a brilliant day for not only MOVE but the Greater Shepparton community, to have visitors from all over Australia was truly wonderful.”
Scrutineering and pre-judging for two days at Shepparton Showgrounds preceded the event, as did a welcome function at The Woolshed on the Friday night.
On Sunday, a coffee and cars event took place in Shepparton’s CBD before a GT Super Cruise made its way to Dookie.
The event finished with a presentation dinner on Sunday night at Riverlinks Eastbank and delegates’ breakfast on Monday morning.
