Chittick Park was full of Seymour Fire Brigade tankers and local volunteers, all to get the community fire ready in preparation for summer.
The Get Fire Ready event, which was delivered by the local brigade in partnership with Mitchell Shire Council’s Safer Together project, saw a number of Seymour’s emergency services volunteers and workers, as well as those from neighbouring towns, inform the community about what they could do as fire season approached.
On Sunday, October 19, locals enjoyed a day of education, delicious eats and connection with their local brigade members.
A large turnout of CFA volunteers from across the region, as well as those from the local VICSES unit and police members, filled the park to provide the public with localised knowledge of what they could do to prepare for an emergency.
And while the adults were talking, kids enjoyed a Sunday of free pizza and ice cream, face painting, and even trying on a CFA uniform for size.
