Saputo Dairy Australia (SDA) has proudly contributed $10,000 to support the redevelopment of the multi-purpose courts at the Timboon Recreation Reserve, helping strengthen a facility that sits at the heart of the local community.
Delivered in partnership with the Timboon Demons Football Netball Club (TDFNC) and the Timboon Recreation Reserve Committee, the upgrade includes four full-size tennis courts, two full-size netballcourts and two half-width netball courts for training and warm-ups.
The courts now meet Netball Australia and Tennis Australia standards and will be used throughout the year by the Timboon Demons Netball Club in winter and the Timboon Tennis Association in summer, while also remaining freely accessible to the public.
President of the football club, Mick Hunt, said the upgrade would deliver lasting benefits for the community.
“These courts are a real community asset,” Mr Hunt said.
“The upgrade improves safety, supports participation at all levels and gives our club room to grow, including expanded competitions and new summer formats.”
Chairman of the Timboon Recreation Reserve, Michael Schulz, said Saputo’s support would help ensure the facility continues to serve the community well into the future.
“This redevelopment creates a safe, inclusive space where people of all ages can stay active and connect,” Mr Schulz said.
“We’re very grateful for Saputo’s contribution and what it means for local sport in Timboon.”
The funding was provided through Saputo’s Legacy Program, which supports initiatives that promote active living and healthy eating in the regional communities where the Company operates.
Jamie Harry, SDA’s Regional Manager West, said supporting local facilities was important to him and his team.
“Many of our employees, suppliers and AG Warehouse customers live locally and use these facilities.
“Backing this project reflects our commitment to the communities that support our business,” Jamie said.
Saputo invests around one per cent of its pre-tax profits each year in community programs and organisations that encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
