Rochester local Jordan Moroney, 8, won the 4km run at the Mother’s Day Classic held at Hopwood Gardens in Echuca on Sunday, May 12.
The little speedster blew away the competition at the run, which raised money for breast and ovarian cancer.
Jordan only began running this year and enjoyed the event, raising $324 in total, and was thrilled with the amount of support he received.
Another Rochester local, Kyle Williams, also raced in the 4km event where him and Jordan wore matching pink trades shirts to show their support for the initiative.
The Mother’s Day Classic is an annual national initiative that features many events around Australia. The charity has raised over $44 million for the National Breast Cancer Foundation since its inception in 1998.
This year’s event was the second time it had been held in Echuca, with over 200 people in attendance to run and support the cause.
