Dairy farmers considering their next investment in milking technology will have the opportunity to see one of Australia’s largest robotic dairy installations in operation at the Lomax Farm Robotic Dairy Open Day on Thursday October 22 from 10.30am to 1.30pm.
Held at Lomax Farm in Valencia Creek, Victoria, the Open Day will give farmers a practical look at the Lomax family’s transition from a traditional rotary dairy to an automated milking system built around the future needs of their farming business.
The dairy features 10 GEA DairyRobot R9500 units with voluntary cow flow, supported by CowScout herd monitoring technology.
The day will give visiting farmers the opportunity to walk through the dairy, understand its layout and cow-flow design, and hear directly from the Lomax family about their experience moving to robotic milking.
For farmers considering upgrades, automation or future expansion, the event provides an opportunity to see how robotic milking is operating in a real Gippsland dairy environment and ask practical questions about what needs to be considered when planning a new dairy system.
GEA local dealers from Westfalia Warragul and Future Dairies Gippsland and GEA Automatic Milking Expert and Herd Management Specialist will join with discussions covering automated milking, herd management, labour efficiency and future dairy planning.
