The PS Canberra was sitting high and dry on Thursday, May 9, as the historic vessel underwent a routine check and maintenance inspection on Moama slipway.

The vessel, owned by Murray River Paddlesteamers is out of commission until Monday, May 13, or Tuesday, May 14, before re-entering the water to resume its duties carrying visitors along the Murray River.

Next to spend time up the slipway will be the PS Adelaide, the oldest wood-hulled paddlesteamer still operating on any river in the world.

The PS Adelaide will be moved up the slipway towards the end of the week to be checked and have any maintenance work done.

The PS Adelaide operates from the Port of Echuca as a passenger boat, carrying 49 passengers a trip.
