Police assaulted in Tungamah

An incident in Tungamah last Wednesday has led to a Queensland man being charged with assaulting police.

Police were called to Middleton St in Tungamah just before midnight on Wednesday last week after receiving reports of a man behaving erratically.

Police said they used capsicum spray when the man became aggressive while officers tried to talk to him.

The said he entered a nearby property and was arrested by police a short time later.

The 35-year-old man from Rainbow Beach in Queensland was charged with assaulting police and other offences.

He will face Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
