Regional Roads Victoria is currently undertaking major works in the Moira Shire, warning that a key intersection will soon be temporarily closed.

Works at the intersection of the Goulburn Valley Hwy and the Murray Valley Hwy at Yarroweyah began on Monday, April 15, with plans to remove the old road and install a stronger base.

The upgrades are estimated to take five weeks, and the intersection will be closed from Monday, April 29, to Sunday, May 12.

All vehicles will be required to detour via the Murray Valley Hwy and Cobram-Koonoomoo Rd and Regional Roads Victoria is asking road users to plan ahead.

During the later stages of work, lane closures and speed reductions will occur within the works area.

Delays of five to 10 minutes should be expected.

During the later stages of work there will be times when there will no access to and from the Goulburn Valley Hwy to the Murray Valley Hwy.

Vehicles must utilise detours using the Murray Valley Hwy, Cobram-Koonoomoo Rd and Benalla-Tocumwal Rd.

For the final stage of works, a second full closure of the Goulburn Valley Hwy intersection with the Murray Valley Hwy will be required to allow final sealing works.

The second closure will take about two days, weather permitting.

Access to the nearby service station may be modified at times during the works, with Regional Roads Victoria asking road users to take note of any changed entry and exit conditions signposted.
