Murray LLS board finalised

Two local landholders and another from Holbrook have been elected to finalise the Murray Local Land Services board.

Mathoura’s Amanda Barlow and Andrew Hermiston from Deniliquin were elected alongside Melinda McCrohon from Holbrook.

Unsuccessful candidates were John Hawkins from Lankeys Creek and Geoffrey Lowry from North Albury.

The elected members join appointed members on the board and play a crucial role identifying priorities and working within their communities to help shape plans, programs and services.

Elections were held in all 11 LLS regions across the state, with 116 candidates in total.

Thirty-four were elected across those 11 boards, in an election which showed a surge in participation.

There was a 23 per cent increase in voter turnout compared to 2020.
