It involved celebration of a Solemn Pontifical Mass officiated by Most Reverend Columba Macbeth-Gabriela Green, Bishop of Wilcannia-Forbes and the Veiling of Sr Gabriela of Immaculate Heart of Mary, ocd.

Those present were also advised of a change for the monastery’s name to Carmel of Elijah, and plans for a permanent building.

Mathoura Public School has gained another mural.

The latest is an Aboriginal mural by Neva, telling the story of Mathoura and the three rivers which surround the town.

It also features swirls representing the wind which earned the area the aboriginal name of ‘Windy Place’

Neva allowed students from the 4/5/6 classes to also work on the project, giving them a lasting memory of their time at the school.
