Nineteen leaders from across Echuca-Moama recently completed a renowned leadership course, departing with fresh interpersonal skills.

Run by Committee for Echuca Moama, the Leading People and Culture Good to Great Leadership course followed on from the inaugural event’s success earlier this year.

EDG Projects chief executive Alastair McDonald said he found the course insightful, prompting self-reflection and greater awareness of his leadership habits.

“The program provided excellent tools to help build new skills, tailored to various learning styles, both within my team and when engaging with customers,” he said.

“We are already seeing the benefits, with improved employee engagement and increased effectiveness across our business.”

Mr McDonald praised C4EM for delivering the course locally, highlighting its support for local businesses to upskill without needing to travel.

The course ran over five months, with five two-day workshops over that period, as well as one-on-one coaching in between all workshops.

Course director Michael Worth said it helped to empower leadership at different levels, drawing on emotional intelligence insights and Stephen R. Covey’s book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

“Participants build their skills to inspire and motivate others, foster team synergy, coach for performance and deliver meaningful feedback,” he said.

“They learn how to delegate with confidence, navigate difficult conversations, lead through change and manage psychological safety.”

The course also helps participants to resolve conflict, address underperformance and enhance personal effectiveness while building a resilient workplace.

C4EM treasure Tim Ford thanked course sponsors Moama Bowling Club, M&S Accounting, Echuca Workers and American Hotel.
