Ky health professionals collect state award nominations

Not one, not two but five of Kyabram’s finest medical staff have been nominated for Victorian health awards.

Clearly, Kyabram Regional Health Clinic stands out as a hotspot for quality health professionals, with five of its staff nominated for the 2025 Victorian Rural Health Awards.

There are eight nominees in total in the Rural Primary Care Nurse or Midwife award, with Kyabram staff members taking up half of the positions with an incredible four finalists: Erica Maguire, Jessica Elbourne, Kate Worsfold and Leanne James.

The award recognises an exception rural nurse or midwife who delivers outstanding patient care, positive outcomes and performs above expectations of their role.

Dr Caroline Shipley, who also services Kyabram Health, Tongala Health and Hospital in the Home Kyabram, is a finalist in the award for Outstanding Contribution by a Rural GP or Rural Generalist.

The award recognises a rural doctor who has shown ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care to meet the current and future healthcare needs of their community

The Victorian Rural Health Awards, which will be held online on Thursday, June 19 from 6pm to 7pm, recognise the dedication, compassion and commitment it takes to deliver quality care in rural and regional areas.
