Hospital worker allegedly assaulted

Echuca Regional Health has confirmed an employee was allegedly assaulted on Saturday, August 6.

Police said a group of three children between the ages of 10 and 12 approached a woman on the corner of Francis St and Hospital Ave, Echuca, as she was heading towards her vehicle shortly after 6pm.

Two of the youths were on bikes, while the third was on a scooter, police said.

An ERH spokesperson said police were notified at the time of the incident.

“ERH is disappointed that this occurred and that one of our team have been subjected to such an incident,” she said.

“Safety and wellbeing measures have been reinforced for all staff of the health service.”

At time of going to press, nobody had been charged and Echuca Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who witnessed or has CCTV footage of the alleged incident is asked to contact Echuca Police on 5483 1500.
