Murray River Council is looking for feedback on its arts and culture strategy.
The strategy is a community-focused plan for council involvement in arts, culture and heritage over the next 10 years.
It shows what areas council will spend money on and will guide its investment in arts and cultural activities, festivals and events.
Murray River Council Mayor Frank Crawley believes this strategy will shape the future of our arts scene.
“Alongside our community, we’ve looked at how we can build upon the existing strengths of our arts and cultural programs and boost the profile of creative industries across the area,” he said.
“Partnerships will lie at the heart of our approach over the next 10 years and we will work with local groups and outside agencies to ensure we can address various elements such as cultural planning and infrastructure, heritage preservation, public arts, festivals and events.”
The strategy draft has been created in consultation with local groups and stakeholders.
By asking for residents’ feedback, council wants to confirm what is important to the community.
“This is our first arts and culture strategy and we welcome feedback from our community to ensure we’ve got it right,” Cr Crawley said.
Wednesday, April 24, is the last day to complete a feedback form.
