Golden Oldies share lunch, and gifts

Gloria Griffiths, Joan McCalman and Meyerene Geldenhuys.

Deniliquin’s ‘Golden Oldies’ have celebrated the Christmas season with a lunch at the Deniliquin RSL Club last Friday.

Lasting two hours and incorporating Kris Kringle gift giving, the group also invited staff from Deniliquin’s Ochre Health Medical Centre to join them.

Formed following the COVID-19 lockdowns, the ‘Golden Oldies’ is designed to provide worthwhile connections and something meaningful to look forward to for its members.

At least 20 people attend meetings regularly, but Meyerene Geldenhuys said they would always welcome more.

The group meets once a month, with the next scheduled for January 10 at the RSL.

The theme for that gathering is to present one thing that you would like to change in 2025, and the dress code will be Australia Day themed (green and gold).

For more information about the group, call Mrs Geldenhuys on 0456 980 023.
