The highest point in Avenel will be the focal point for the seventh annual fun run and walk on Sunday.
Families will gather and take part in the annual run or walk up Lovers Hill, if nothing else but to enjoy the view from the top.
This annual event encourages children and adults to take a new look at Avenel while enjoying a run or walk over 2.5 km and this year organisers are encouraging people to also be part of the Friendship Walk which could include a friend or a canine on a lead.
The run, which begins at the tennis club at 8.30am for 9am start, can be walked at a leisurely pace as well. If participants are really keen they can do it twice to test their aerobic fitness.
Participants are asked to register by phoning 0438 678 323 to assist organisers with plans however, it is possible to register on the day as well.
The run starts and finishes near Jubilee Park and contestants are visible from there as they tackle the hill.
There is an open class, secondary and primary age group but the essence of the run is to have fun and take in the views.
At the same time the Avenel Market will be showcasing some of the best local fresh produce.
The market which is held monthly is proud of its make it, bake it, grow it mantra providing talented local people with an outlet for their crafts and produce.
