Gannawarra Shire Council’s website has been recognised by the local government sector for its resident-friendly design.

The council’s Transforming the Gannawarra’s Digital Presence project won the Digital and Technology award at the recent 2025 LGPro Awards for Excellence.

The award acknowledges the four years of work to transform how residents engage with the council, including through online forms and a new-look website.

Chief executive Geoff Rollinson said the council had a renowned history with the LGPro Awards, with various projects and staff recognised over the years.

“Our efforts to transform our website brought our key engagement tool up to industry standard, resulting in a change from an organisational silo approach to one that is customer focused,” he said.

The council's community flood recovery efforts and governance officer Dylan Taylor (right) were also recognised during the awards.

The council was also named a finalist in the Disaster Readiness and Recovery category for its social recovery efforts since the October 2022 floods, with governance officer Dylan Taylor a finalist in the Young Achiever award category.

“Council congratulates Dylan and all staff involved in the Gannawarra’s social recovery from the 2022 floods for the recognition,” Mr Rollinson said.
