Test your general and pop culture knowledge skills and raise money for a good cause tonight, at the Deniliquin Salvation Army’s annual trivia evening.
Starting from 7.30pm at the Salvation Army Hall in Edwardes St, Deniliquin, the price to attend is $10 per head. Supper is included.
All proceeds from the night will support The Salvation Army’s Self Denial Appeal 2024, which supports projects in Indonesia, the Philippines and Tonga.
Deniliquin Salvation Army community engagement worker Sandra Whyborn said the appeal’s theme this year is ‘Love In Action, which is inspired by the Bible passage 1 John 3:16-18.
“Love In actions sums up the Christian lifestyle,” Ms Whyborn said.
“We act in love toward others because of the love God has for us.”
Funds raised by The Salvos as part of the Self Denial Appeal will be used in various ways.
In the Philippines, for example, families are supported to create thriving small businesses.
Funds to Indonesia will support the rebuilding of churches after a devastating earthquake and tsunami.
In Tonga, funds will provide holistic education to preschool children.
