Dads and carers visited Echuca East Primary School for an afternoon of fun Father’s Day celebrations, which coincided with the annual Footy Colours Day on Friday, September 5.
Following a girls and staff versus boys football game, along with a parade in the morning, parents were invited to the school for a barbecue and activities.
Business manager Jodi Boal said the school decided to combine the two events this year, which was a well-received choice.
“It was really good. We had a heap of people here, so it was just a really nice feeling,” she said.
“Everyone was having a bit of a kick around with the footy, and we had a Father’s Day stall.”
Students decorated their own gift bags earlier in the week, and were able to fill them with gifts for their dads available for purchase from the stall.
The staff and girls team came out on top during the match, winning five goals to two.
As both events happened annually, Ms Boal said they might be combined again next year.
