There was a rainbow of footy colours at St Joseph’s Primary School in Rochester for its Father’s Day celebration.
Dads, grandpas and father figures joined students on Thursday, September 4, and were showered with love ahead of Father’s Day on Sunday, September 7.
Scarves, jerseys, socks, beanies and hats of all different persuasions also made their way on to campus to mark the start of the 2025 AFL finals series.
Students, including Willow Brooks, were more than happy to celebrate their dads and their teams.
“He’s a really kind and nice person,” Willow said of her dad.
“He’s like a superhero to me, he’s just the best.
“He comes to all my sports ... he takes us motorbike riding.”
Archie Keating also sang the praises of his dad.
“He’s grateful and he takes me to places without me asking, like to Maccas, and he takes me to sport,” he said.
Siblings Darcie and Sam Acocks reflected on their favourite things to do with their dad.
“He cooks the best steaks,” Darcie said.
“In the outdoor area, we usually have a salad, some baked potatoes, with our family.”
Attendees warmed up thanks to the Mum & Me coffee cart, paired with a barbecue, courtesy of the Rochester Lions Club.
A raffle also treated three lucky dads to prizes, including a hat from Rochester Sportspower, a car vacuum and a voucher to AgWarehouse.
