Greater Shepparton City Council’s National Tree Day 2025 has been rescheduled to Sunday, August 31 from 10am to noon at MacIsaac Rd Reserve, due to predicted inclement weather.
The community planting event aims to enhance local biodiversity by establishing indigenous trees, shrubs and grasses along the floodway reserve.
This initiative will create a vital wildlife corridor, contributing to the municipality’s native vegetation, which currently stands at just 2.5 per cent.
Participants should meet at the wetland picnic area, with parking available along Chivalry Dve, Mooroopna.
Council will provide all necessary equipment, including gloves, mallets, shovels and water buckets.
Volunteers should wear covered footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.
A complimentary barbecue and coffee van will be available on-site.
