The Echuca-Moama Salvation Army will hold its annual Christmas toy distribution again this year.

Last year, donated toys were distributed to more than 200 children and auxiliary lieutenant Sonia Edwards said organisers were hoping to achieve the same number this Christmas.

“Thank you all for your generous donations. These gifts enable us to bring joy to children and their parents, who otherwise go without,” Ms Edwards said.

Community members can register children under 15 years by calling 0427 666 155, or in-person at the hall at 50-52 Sturt St, Echuca, on Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.

They may also visit the thrift shop at 119 Ogilvie Ave, Echuca to register.

Recipients of donated toys will be notified by text of appointment time and date the week before toy distribution, which begins on Tuesday, December 10.

Donations of new toys may be left at the Salvo’s hall and thrift shop, or under Century 21 Rich River Real Estate’s reception Christmas tree from now until Monday, December 9.

Century 21 is in its seventh year of participation and would like to see the biggest contribution yet as many families are in need of extra support this year.
