A group of seniors explored the Campaspe region on a delightful day trip as part of Seniors Month celebrations, with funding support from Campaspe Shire Council.
“This is the second year we have done a bus trip during Seniors Month,” Crossenvale Community House manager Rob Foran said.
“We went to the Torrumbarry Weir, The Workshop Cafe in Gunbower, through the Whipstick National Park, before having lunch at the Lockington Community pub.”
The seven participants immersed themselves in local history at the Lockington and District Living Heritage Centre before concluding their journey at the Strathallan Rochester Landcare Squirrel Glider Sanctuary, where they learned about ongoing conservation initiatives.
“Crossenvale Community House would like to give a big thank you to the Campaspe Shire Council for the contribution to the day, which made it happen,” Mr Foran said.
“It was a great day out and we are hoping we can get funding to do it all again next year.”
The excursion was made possible through a partnership with Echuca Neighbourhood House, which provided the bus for the day.
