Colourful end to year

Mathoura Rural Fire Brigade spray students with water before commencing theircolour run.

There was a colour explosion at Mathoura Public School Friday last week. Students took part in their annual colour run — a carnival of colour and happiness to help celebrate a brilliant year of learning at Mathoura Public School.

Year 5/6 students co-designed the course and filled it with many exciting activities, including a mini trampoline, stepping-stones, hurdles, a hopscotch course, hay bales and balance boards.

Principal Janice Eddy said excitement built throughout the day, but it was the arrival of the Mathoura Rural Fire Brigade’s fire-engine that saw enthusiasm spike.

‘‘The students were sprayed with water, before heading off on the track,’’ she said.

‘‘Bursts of vibrant colour splattered crisp white shirts along the way. ‘‘The students’ smiles tell the rest of the story. ‘‘This is certainly a day students of MPS look forward to each year.’’
