The site of Shepparton’s newest school has been blessed ahead of the start of construction in 2023.

The Anglican Schools Commission, Greater Shepparton City Council and students from Wangaratta, Cobram and Albury were present for the blessing at the site in Verney Rd where All Saints will be built.

Bishop of Wangaratta the Right Reverend Clarence Bester performed the blessing.

ASC chief executive the Reverend Peter Laurence said it was a significant day for the ASC community.

“While planning has been well under way behind the scenes, the blessing of the site is the first step as we prepare to start site works here in Shepparton North,” he said.

Contribution: Students from Cathedral College Wangaratta perform at the blessing of the site.

“The ASC has a commitment to supporting current and new schools in regional Victoria and we can’t wait to be a part of the Shepparton community and welcome students to our new school in 2024.”

Reverend Laurence said the ASC had received strong interest and enrolments after holding community information sessions in late March.

“We have been delighted with the response from families enrolling their children for the school’s opening year in 2024 and beyond,” he said.

All Saints Anglican School will start with classes from Prep to Year 7 in its first year, growing to all grades from Prep to Year 12 by 2029.

The ASC operates schools in Cobram, Wangaratta and Albury, serving about 2700 students.
