The Southern Riverina’s emergency services provided some vital lessons for local youngsters last week.
Blighty Public School as well as students from Mayrung were involved, participated in and attended the special event hosted at Conargo Public School.
They enjoyed in-person demonstrations and some fun, educational activities.
Deniliquin Police and the NSW Rural Fire Service were involved throughout the day.
While Conargo awaited the arrival of the other small schools, the day began with an exhilarating dodgeball match, which saw Conargo students going head-to-head with the special visitors. Each team won a game.
Conargo then joined forces with Blighty and Mayrung Public Schools for an engaging session that included the Life Education Van and Healthy Harold, as well as informative talks with the RFS and police.
They brought several personnel and vehicles, and each student received a goodie bag at the end of the day.
The combined schools event concluded with a captivating virtual performance from Tony Bones, with an engaging reading of the book ‘That Bird Has Arms.’
