Benalla’s “Yes” group is a collection of local people who are throwing their support behind the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.
A group spokesperson said In October this year a referendum would be held asking all Australians to vote on a change to the constitution, so an Indigenous Voice to Parliament could be created.
“(We are) a group of about 20 Benalla people supporting the Yes Vote (who) gathered for the first time on April 26 to discuss ways in which Benalla can support the campaign,” the spokesperson said.
“(We) invite interested Benalla community members to join in (our) next meeting.”
It will be held on Thursday, May 25, from 4pm at the Benalla Family Research rooms on Church St (Old St Andrews Church building at the end of Mair St).
