Allegedly stolen guns, drugs seized in caravan park raid

Two allegedly stolen guns and a large amount of drugs were seized during a police search in Shepparton on Monday, April 29.

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit Senior Constable Harrison Davis said police found the guns and drugs while executing a search warrant at Victoria Park Lake Caravan Park at about 2pm.

He said two firearms, which police believe were stolen, and about 140g of methamphetamines were discovered by police during the search of a place where a person was living at the caravan park.

A 49-year-old Shepparton man has been charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of methamphetamines and possessing a firearm while a prohibited person.

He was also charged with possessing methamphetamines, possessing ecstasy, possessing a schedule four poison and handling stolen goods.

The man has been remanded in custody to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court later this week.
