Up to 30 acres of private property and grass alongside Leethams Rd was burned on Wednesday afternoon after what the NSW Rural Fire Service is calling an “accidental” fire.
The Mid Murray RFS said sticks and twigs were set alight after coming into close contact with the brakes of a vehicle.
This started a small fire which, because of the wind, spread.
The fire was able to be quickly extinguished thanks to the efforts of landholders with farm fire units, and the Hill Plain RFS unit.
