Mooroopna locals can look forward to a revamped Woolworths the next time they do their grocery shop.
Woolworths Mooroopna has undergone a multimillion-dollar renewal over the past few months, and has new features shoppers can now enjoy.
Some of these include more checkout and fresh food options, and in an effort to operate more sustainably, LED lights and carbon-efficient refrigeration systems.
There’s now a wider variety of products to choose from, including an extensive range of Australian fruit and vegetables, a selection of Australian beef and an array of fresh seafood.
A new-look bakery completed the new fresh food selections, offering fresh stone-baked bread made from Australian wheat flour, and pastries and cakes prepared daily by the bakery team.
Although the store is filled with new features, many familiar faces from the local team are still there.
There’s an incredible amount of experience among the 80 team members at the Mooroopna store, including some who have been around since the opening in 2010.
Woolworths Mooroopna store manager Leigh West said the new fit-out provided a more “user-friendly operation” for the team.
Mr West said some highlights for him were the checkout changes at the front of the store which have “dramatically changed” wait times, and the online team members getting their own space, now having the “opportunity to thrive”.
At the relaunch, Mr West thanked the team’s “resilience and camaraderie” while the upgrades were taking place.
“It’s been great to see the store’s transformation come together in the last couple of weeks,” he said.
“We’ve got a fantastic crew here in Mooroopna, and I’m so excited to be leading this team and showing off our new-look store to local shoppers.”
