Police are on the hunt for a gunman after a man was shot dead in his car in a second public shooting in days.
The shooting comes after a gangland hit on two men walking out of a pub on Sunday.
Police and emergency services were dispatched shortly after 7pm on Tuesday following reports of a shooting in Winston Hills in western Sydney.
Officers were told the man had been shot while in a car.
He was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital where he died.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
A crime scene has been established and investigation is underway.
A 39-year-old man was killed and a 31-year-old man sustained multiple injuries when shots were fired outside an inner Sydney pub on Sunday.
The two men shot were walking to a car about 100m from the hotel when they were attacked.
A bullet narrowly missed a woman working at the hotel.
Police are appealing for public help to find a dark-coloured vehicle which left the scene near The Harold hotel at Forest Lodge, and at least one shooter.
