A man has been charged with murder following a stabbing incident in Melbourne's southeast that left a 39-year-old woman dead.
The 51-year-old Endeavour Hills man, who is in hospital under police guard, is set to face Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Police questioned the suspect after being called to a home at Kassan Gardens following reports of an altercation early Tuesday morning.
The woman, who was known to the man, was pronounced dead at the scene and a 10-year-old girl was hospitalised with serious injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
