A man has been charged with shooting with intent to murder after another man was struck in the leg and shoulder by gunfire in a western Sydney street.
The 30-year-old will face court over the alleged attack in Hebersham last Sunday, after investigations by Mount Druitt detectives attached to Strike Force Weilelle.
Police launched a public appeal over the incident on Monday, saying initial inquiries suggested the shooting was targeted.
Officers were called Bletchley Place about 2.40pm, with reports a 39-year-old man had been shot on the street outside a home.
He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics for two wounds to his leg and shoulder and taken to Westmead Hospital.
His condition was listed by staff on Monday as stable.
The shooting was heard by frightened neighbours, including a family in the middle of their two-year-old daughter's backyard birthday party who were forced to run for cover, according to media reports.
Police are expected to provide further details on Sunday.
