A former boxer shot several times in a gangland attack has been charged for alleged involvement in a spate of kidnappings.

Police arrested the 26-year-old man in Randwick, in eastern Sydney, on Monday for alleged involvement in abductions taking place between June 2025 and May 2026 across several suburbs.

Allegations included a conspiracy to kidnap a man in Ryde in August 2025, the kidnapping of a man in Narwee in October 2025, conspiracy to kidnap a man in Condell Park in May 2026 and an affray in Alexandria in September 2025.

Humzah Khalid, 26, who goes by the moniker The Raging Bull for his boxing prowess, was critically injured in April when he was targeted in a drive-by shooting.

He was sitting in a Mercedes with a friend when the vehicle was sprayed with bullets, leaving him fighting for his life.

The underworld figure is accused of masterminding the kidnapping of a 40-year-old in June 2025.

The victim reported his abduction to police two days later, triggering an investigation that led police to believe Khalid was involved in three other kidnappings in under a year.

The kidnapped man was held at gunpoint then driven to an unknown address where he was assaulted by several men, who demanded a ransom before the victim was returned to his car later the same night.

Khalid has been charged with 11 offences including two counts of conspiracy to take or detain a person with intent to hold to ransom.

The 26-year-old was refused bail to appear in court on Tuesday as police continue their investigations.
