ELMORE TRACTOR PULL IS RETURNING FOR 2024, WITH THE ELMORE FIELD DAYS COMMITTEE, ST JOSEPH’S PRIMARY SCHOOL ROCHESTER AND THE DOWN UNDER MODIFIED TRACTOR PULLING ASSOCIATION PARTNERING TO BRING THE EVENT BACK TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN IN AUSTRALIA.

The first Australian modified tractor pull was held at the Elmore Field Days in 1976.

Elmore Tractor Pull Committee member Grant Shawcross knows we are in for another big year.

“This year we will see an Elmore committee member get his new mini modified out on home soil,” Grant said.

“There may be a local open modified big tractor that is currently in the engine rebuild stage, and we are hoping to see the owner out on track for the first time since 1987.

“There is a chance that the engine on that tractor could be up to 2500 horsepower.

“We will see a large variety of tractors on display at our Agco Tractor Roundup, including but not limited to Massey Ferguson, Allis Chalmers and Fendt tractors.”

A tractor pull is where a modified tractor pulls a weighted sled along an 11 metre wide, 100 metre long dirt track.

As the tractor pulls the sled further, the more forward the weight is on the sled, causing the sled to get harder to pull.

When the tractor “pulls” the whole 100 metres it is called a full pull.

Tractor pulling is known as the most powerful motorsport because some tractors have more than one engine, some of which are over 1000hp.

Elmore Tractor Pull will be held at the Elmore Event Centre on Saturday, March 16, gates open at 3pm with tractor pulling starting at 4pm. For tickets, visit: https://www.123tix.com.au/events/40537/elmore-tractor-pull
