When Kindness Kare founder Kate Sidebottom was 21, she was given an opportunity that ultimately changed her life and pushed her into a career that today inspires her daily.

It inspires her to bring happiness, peace, laughter, joy, independence, love, friendship, and freedom into the lives of those who have been dealt some tough cards.

Kindness Kare offers respite, palliative and nursing care, community and social interaction, domestic assistance, mentoring, education and end-of-life doula support.

The company supports children right up to the elderly and prides itself on providing exceptional care to its clients with unique support options to ensure they feel valued.

“We do a lot of personal care, community access, some household duties and yard maintenance, this all assists people with staying at home and maintaining their independence as much as possible,” Kate said.

“Sometimes just providing a bit of in-home support and companionship can allow family members or friends who are the carers a bit of a break and some time out for the week too.

“It’s important that our clients know they can relate to us on a human level, and that’s something we’re proud of.”

Eighty-year-old Tatura resident Allan MacAllister started receiving Kindness Kare services two years ago, and he said their services were invaluable.

“You can live your life to the fullest when someone else is helping you with the jobs that might be a little bit more difficult as you get older or unwell,” Allan said.

“I trust them, and they have a down-to-earth approach.

“I don’t know what I would do without them now.”
