French toast treat

Treat your mum this Mother's Day to a delicious brunch.

This simple and delectable French toast recipe is easy to follow, so even the youngest chefs will be able to follow along.

Serves four.

Ingredients:

8 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche works best)

4 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ tsp ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Maple syrup, fresh berries and whipped cream for serving

Method:

In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.

Heat up a teaspoon of butter in your pan over medium heat.

Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for about 20-30 seconds on each side, making sure each slice is evenly coated.

Place the soaked bread slices into your heated pan, cooking for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Serve the French toast with maple syrup, whipped cream and fresh berries for a treat your mum will love.
